2007 is often considered one of the most interesting years when it comes to tabloids as well as pop culture, with numerous celebrities causing scandals on an almost daily basis. This coincided with the zenith of myspace. When given the assignment to create a publication with content that usually is not published in a certain medium in a Publishing class I took in Spring 2017, I therefore decided to take content from old myspace profiles of starlets popular in 2007, and making a yearbook-style book with this content.
This was meant as conceptual commentary firstly on the internet being more permanent than it is usually thought of and secondly cultural memory of things that are often false or scandalised, paired with great misogyny in the entertainment industry (all of the celebrities featured in my book being female).
